It turned out to be an incredible success. We collected roughly 10 couches and futons, several refrigerators, microwaves, and lamps, over 15 large bags full of clothing, a ton! of food, and a whole lot more. All of the proceeds either went to the Salvation Army or a local homeless/domestic violence shelter. Look for the project to take place again next year. I'd like to take advantage of the residences not covered this year and get more volunteer support. Let me know if you or your club would be interested in helping out or parenting the project. With the right amount of help, I'm confident the collection could be doubled the next time around. And of course, PLEASE let me know if you have any comments or suggestions regarding how the program might be run in the future. I'd love to get some feedback!
